Sprite is a member of the Eternals and has the ability to manipulate cosmic energy. Sprite has been seen as one of the most powerful members of the Eternals and she was one of the first members in their history. She can empower herself with cosmic energies and use her abilities to phase through objects, fly, emit energy blasts or create force fields. There are no solo Sprite Marvel Comics.
Sprite was born in the city of Titanos where she witnessed her mother being killed by one of the Eternals. It wasn’t long after that Sprite’s father, Mentor, also died in battle against an Eternal named Zuras and his children. All three children were then raised by their grandfather who planned to use them all as pawns in a war against Zuras. Sprite was trained to master her powers as an Eternal and she grew up with the knowledge that she would one day have to kill her siblings so that she could claim leadership over Titanos.
Sprite tried to fight off this fate by secretly creating a device that could deactivate their cosmic energy. This device was hidden inside of her body and she would be capable to activating it at any time.
Sprite then joined the Eternals who moved about their business on Earth. It was here that Sprite met a man named Randall Sikorski and they fell in love with one another. It wasn’t long after this that Mentor discovered what Sprite had done and she fled from him. Sprite then went on to live with Randall and he helped her raise her daughter, Lyla.
Sprite remained hidden until the time came for her to fight Zuras. He was controlling a villain named the Deviant known as Blastaar who made his way into Titanos to conquer it. As one of the Eternals, Sprite fought against Blastaar and even managed to defeat him. However, this was just her first step towards embracing her destiny as the leader of Titanos. [to use as knowledge, not to be copied verbatim]
Sprite was then granted the power of the cosmic energy and became one of the most powerful Eternals in existence. She had become a mutant who absorbed all energy around her which made her similar to Blastaar. Sprite then went on to kill Zuras and his children and she finally became the ruler of Titanos.
Sprite later returned to Earth in order to use her status as an Eternal and fight crime on the streets of New York. She used her cosmic energy to create a force field which could be thrown at foes but also increase the power of her hand-to-hand combat. Sprite was one of the most powerful of the Eternals and this allowed her to fight alongside with them against beings such as Thanos.
Although Sprite was empowered by the cosmic energy, she did not have much control over it which meant that she was often in danger of being consumed by it. She had no control over what the cosmic energy would do to her body or even her mind. This meant that many times Sprite would become totally unaware of what she was doing and could not stop herself from releasing energy blasts or phasing through objects.
Although Sprite is obviously the favored Eternals member, she has been known to be a disloyal one as well. She even joined forces with Blastaar in order to destroy the Earth in 2001.
What are Sprites Powers
One of Sprite’s most impressive abilities is her ability to manipulate cosmic energy. Her control over this power allows her to create forcefields, fly, or emit energy blasts. One of the most useful tricks that Sprite has in her pocket is the ability to phase through objects so she can get away from a situation. Sprite has also been witnessed as one of the most powerful beings amongst the Eternals and she’s one of their earliest members.
Why did Sprite erase the Eternals memories
The Eternals are very powerful beings and Sprite was one of the first members of their history. Sprite was created by the Celestials in an attempt to create a race that had a power level to match the Celestials. The Celestials had plans to eventually wipe out all sentient life in the universe so they can replace them with Eternals.
When Sprite found out what the Celestials were planning she decided that it would be better for her race to die off than replace other races with themselves. So, she tried to kill herself but failed because she was immortal. She then convinced the others Eternals that if they wanted to survive, they should erase their own memories and go dormant for a while.
Teams Sprite has been a member of besides The Eternals
Sprite has also been part of teams outside of the Eternals. She was briefly a member of the Avengers and later became a reserve member. Sprite also briefly joined the X-Men before returning to her team – the Eternals.
She also joined the Defenders alongside Hercules and Nighthawk but left after only one adventure.
Is Sprite a hero or villain
It’s hard to answer this question. Sprite may have been created by the Celestials to eventually replace other races but it’s hard to say if she was a hero or villain. She certainly didn’t want her race to wipe out other sentient life and thought that it would be best if they went dormant instead. So, in some ways, she was a hero but in other ways, she was considered a villain for trying to kill herself and her other Eternal siblings.
When did Sprite first appear in Marvel comics
Sprite first appeared in the Marvel Comics in 1977 in Thor #197. Sprite was introduced as a long time member of the Eternals and she had been seen in many issues since then. Sprite appears in Thor #197 and 204, Fantastic Four #176-177, Avengers #231-232, West Coast Avengers Annual #1 (1987) and Silver Surfer vol 4 #87 to 92.
Sprite was not seen from 1991 to 2000 but she reappeared in Silver Surfer #81-82 (which is her first appearance in a long time). Sprite next appeared briefly in The Eternals vol 3 #1. Her last chronological appearances were in the New Warriors Annual 1997 and X-Man Annual 1998.
Conclusion
Sprite is one of the most powerful beings amongst the Eternals and she’s one of their earliest members. Sprite was created by the Celestials in an attempt to create a race that had a power level to match the Celestials. The Celestials had plans to eventually wipe out all sentient life in the universe so they can replace them with Eternals. When Sprite found out what these plans were, she decided it would be better for her race if they went dormant instead of replacing other races with themselves. So, she tried killing herself but failed because she was immortal (something we’ll explore more later). She then convinced her fellow Eternal siblings that erasing their memories and going dormant for awhile would be best until this threat passes over which seems to have worked out. Sprite has been seen in many Marvel Comics issues since then and it’s unknown if she’ll be seen again or not. Check out sprite Marvel Comics and let us know what you think about her character.
